Happy Navratras my beautiful ladies... 

The official festive season begins in India today. And the weather too just turned a little more cooler, a little more breezy to announce the arrival of the Goddess in our lives. Just the perfect season.... 

The nine days of festivity call for nine different looks and attires too. Although a large number of people are fasting, but I know that there are groups who host small get togethers to enjoy the fasting delicacies. Also, some of us do like to be dressed even when we are home fasting. 

So this post is dedicated to what colours should one wear during Navratras, specially giving details according to the days and the Goddesses.  Read on and have a great and prosperous Navratras. 

Colours to wear during Navratras 

First Day – Red

The first day is the day of Devi Shailaputri, the first form of Goddess Durga. The idol of Goddess is dressed in a bright red saree and the colour for her devotees is also Red.

Second Day – Royal Blue

Bharmacharini is the second form of Goddess which is worshipped on the second day. She is called the Supreme Goddess of power, spiritual grace and divinity. The colour for this day is Royal Blue.

Third Day – Yellow

The third day is devoted to Goddess Chandraghanta, who is known as an epitome of peace, serenity, beauty and bravery. The Goddess can be seen wearing white. However, for the devotees, yellow is the colour.

Fourth Day  –  Green

On the fourth day, it is Devi Kushmanda who is worshipped. She is considered as the creator of the entire universe. The goddess is seen draped in Red saree and for the devotees, the colour is green.

Fifth Day – Grey

Skandamata the fourth avatar of Maa Durga who is known for demolishing the demons, is the goddess of the fifth day. While the goddess adorns blue, devotees are said to choose grey.

Sixth Day  - Orange

Devi Katyayani, another avatar of Goddess Durga, is worshipped on the sixth day of Navratri. She is dressed in Yellow saree, and the day is most auspiciously celebrated as Maha Shashti also. Devotees are supposed to favour orange colour for their attire.

Seventh Day  – White

On this day, the Goddess is Kaalratri, who is known to protect all her devotees from all kinds of trouble and negativity. It is said that she grants freedom and happiness to those who worship her. She adorns a green saree and her devotees wear white.

Eighth Day– Pink

The eight avatar of Ma Durga worshipped on this day is Maha Gauri. She is worshipped to forgive sins and purify the souls of her devotees. The Goddess wears Peacock green and the devotees wear Pink.

Ninth Day / Tenth Day – Sky Blue

Siddhidatri is the last form of Maa Durga who is known to have great supernatural powers. The goddess is dressed in Purple attire and Maha Navami puja is done.  Sky Blue or Light Blue is the colour for the last day.
